IT provides its greatest benefits when it becomes a shared and standardized infrastructure of the companies. So IT would be the infrastructural technology instead of proprietary technology. Proprietary technologies are owned by a single company; in contrast, infrastructural technologies are broadly shared by the companies. According to the rev iew, it is said that infrastructural technologies have far more value than proprietary technologies. For the macro economy, the value produced by the proprietary technologies for the development of individual companies would be trivial in comparison with the value produced by the infrastructural technologies that would be ordinal and become part of the global business infrastructure.
